Have a lovely weekend

Well after a rather violent week of nearly blowing myself up lighting the gas geyser on Saturday, and being mugged outside a gallery on Tuesday, i am now taking the weekend off. Time Out.
And am heading out to Paternoster. i hope you have a lovely weekend, and will probably have some (hopefully) awesome pictures for you.

Today is pay day. I am so happy, holy freaking hell. this month i promise to budget better. but this month, i hope i can buy my dream camera. The Canon, Powershot G11 with SLR functions. small, deadly and potent. hmmm.

This weekend was a magical night of mayhem and fun, when a few friends and i went down to my beach house, made a wheel barrow braai (thank you Andre for ur mad skillz) :) and played the night away, watching the sun go down. we ate, drank and played like kings. that is all i need in life to complete me. A few pics..

Shooting Alone with a 30D

This weekend was fantastic! i borrowed a friend's Canon 30D camera and went gallavanting all on my own, up hills, down to the sea, up at dawn, coasting the coast, meeting hippies, dogs and surfers and just making myself happy taking random shots. wow. its as if time disappeared, and i could relax for the first time. i locked my phone in my car and no one could get hold of me for 4 hours. total freedom. i think this is my best shot of the day..

Oh! the reason for this post was, i had dinner with some friends on Saturday night and had the most delicious pea green soup. YUM. and then hiked Silvermine yesterday, and found an amzing waterfall. what a nice weekend.

Pretty Pictures

Tuesday treat: is just a pretty picture for you. Found here

Indaba baba

This weekend I flew up to Durban for the Indaba Travel Tradeshow. It was very busy and although it was good to be there, I am glad to be home. Durban's amazing with its rolling green sugar cane fields, blue ocean, very tropical and so different to Cape Town.

Planting my herb garden

This weekend i went to a French themed 4oth birthday party in Franschhoek, in the Cape Winelands. We had dinner at Cafe Bon Bon on Le Petite Dauphine estate, and there were about 80 guests in total. it was so beautiful, the food was amazing and the ambience to die for. You can view the restaurant and farm on the above link. i love Franschhoek in the Autumn, all the vineyards turn rust and in my opinion it's the best time to visit.

On Saturday morning, i cooked breakfast for the guys using ORGANIC mushrooms (6 different varieties!) that Mike bought from the ORGANIC market. i insisted that we go, so we hopped in the car and i got the opportunity to visit the the Stellenbosch FOOD LOVER's MARKET. i love this market, it's more chilled than the Biscuit Mill. we ate delicious wild rocket, parma ham Italian style pizza, decadent waffles and drank Jack Black. we also purchased more wild mushrooms for Mike.

Saturday night was a lazy one (so bushed after the Franschhoek and Stellenbosch mission) that we just caught a movie at the V & A Waterfront. We watched FOOD.INC which was very challenging and informative. The USA meat & poultry industry is so completely screwed. The corruption runs so deep, you have to go and watch it yourself. I was so horrified at where our food comes from, and what is put in it, that I decided to go ORGANIC. I've also decided to start growing my own vegetables as much as possible. I live in a flat but I would like to hire an allotment of land in Woodstock. In the meantime, I went to the nursery on Sunday morning (Starke Ayres, its fabulous) and bought lots of herbs and started a herb garden on my balcony.

Today I am stiff from gardening, can you believe it? It's a good feeling :)
